English

Writing in English is something that dificult me because I do not use a lot of vocabulary. Managing another language is something that becomes very difficult even though I have tried to improve. However, being constantly writing for the blog has helped me to know words and improve the writing a bit.
I think I still have a lot to learn but this has been a positive experience for me, because not only have I reinforced the grammar but also writing about me has been a therapeutic activity hahaha
I think it was an opportunity to get to know myself and get to know some of my colleagues a little more. Knowing what their tastes and activities were was also fun, with some activities I even learned new things.
The blog represents for me a space of relaxation and that is why I agree with the fact that the program includes it in its program, it seems to me that the promotion of writing is important in order to understand another language.
Honestly I do not have an idea to improve it because I like it that way, I think it's a relaxed activity and it does not require a lot of time.
Outside of class, I use English when I converse with foreigners and when I listen to music.
The truth is that English is not a language that motivates me too much, but I understand
that it is a useful tool in this globalized world

Finally, in my experience, the english in the university It has been very good, at school it was very difficult for me and I never really learned, sometimes it gives me laziness but at the end of the day I feel that I am learning something that is useful.

Social Work UCH

I quite like the curriculum of my career. At this moment we are the only career within the Faculty of Social Sciences that has a branch of gender theory, for example. I feel quite comfortable with the subjects because they are new. The race was reopened in 2015, so the curriculum is quite current.
I think, that it would lower the work load a little. We are asked to write a lot and we always have to make presentations, in addition to constantly giving evidence. I think the load is a little heavy in that sense.
What I would add is a physical space and how, the social work department is small and there are always problems with the rooms, so I think it would be very positive to add a building with rooms for the race.
The forms of teaching I like, usually teachers are concerned with creating comfortable spaces for conversation and are open to dialogue. Many try to take us recreational activities to get out of the traditional teaching model.

In terms of technology, the truth is that I do not have much to say because I have never felt that it is necessary, I think it might be a contribution but, we do not work mostly with high-end technology, we only use computers and until now we have them inside. the faculty.
Finally, in general terms I feel happy with the race and with the means we have to study, I think it is a nice place, but undoubtedly always the financing, for example, can contribute to better the quality of the spaces.

Angela Davis

Currently I do not have a favorite author. I read a lot because my career is based on reading and I do not dislike it, but when I have free time I prefer to do other things.
Angela Davis, is an author who has inspired a lot, is not my favorite because I have not read all her work but I think she is an admirable woman because of the struggle in which she participated. His writing is simple and tries to reach all people, not just the academy. The book "woman, race and class" seemed beautiful, although hard. In the book Angela talks about the conflicts that occurred throughout history within the feminist movement, especially between white and black feminism.
If you ask me, I recommend it to closed eyes, it is a quick, informative reading that invites reflection and questioning. The issue addressed remains in force until today. It is a book that I really liked because it gave me tools to be able to converse with the feminine environment that surrounds me. I would not say it's my favorite book because many books have made sense to me throughout my life. But this is the one I liked the most during the last time.

I recommend it because I think it is important to be up to date with the information that relates to feminism, a movement that is in the forefront and that has marked the political and social scene, especially during the course of this year.

My summer vacation

For my summer vacation, I will travel in the first instance with my mom. She does not know yet, but I bought tickets to visit Arica. She has never traveled by plane and I thought it was a nice idea. This will be in early January.

Then, in mid-January, I will go with my parents, younger sisters, grandparents and my godfather to Lican Ray, a town that is south of Chile, Araucania region. We plan to visit Lake Calafquen, Pucón and Villarrica, which are cities near Lican Ray. My father also proposed to visit Valdivia, but that is still not safe because January 26 is my birthday and for that date I would like to be back in Santiago to celebrate also with my friends.

In February I would like to participate in a volunteering. I signed up recently and still do not confirm if I was accepted, but the idea is to work in the maintenance of nature reserves in central and southern Chile. It makes me a little nervous, because I signed up to go alone, but I am encouraged to know that it is an opportunity to meet new people and collaborate with the enviromet.

Finally, I plan to spend the rest of the holidays (half of February) in the company of my friends. I think it might be a good idea to look for work on that date to continue working during the year. In college I have to take a few subjects so I think I would have time to dedicate myself to a job.

Postgraduate

At the end of my career, I would like to do a graduate degree related to criminological sciences.
Ithink it would be interesting to study in developed countries that study the
 social phenomenon of crime.
I believe that understanding crime can make better decisions that relate social reintegration.

Or also, a postgraduate course focused on public policies and the way of doing social intervention.
I like the relationship of social work with public policy and the state role.
I would like to study it because
I consider it a challenge.

New Zealand or Australia have more equitable social policies and that is why
I would like to travel abroad.

The idea would be to export models and advance in the area of social equity.
I think it is important to study after graduating because it is necessary to update
knowledge every day to understand social phenomena.
It would be interesting to study in a part-time system because that would allow me to work and
have money to pay for my expenses outside the country.
Finally, I think that studying abroad as well as expanding knowledge in academic terms is a nice
opportunity to meet other people and be filled with experience that will then give you the energy
to work happily And share the knowledge with the environment that surrounds us.

work

To be honest, it scares me to think about my future job because I honestly do not know if I want to work.
I am a student of social work, I like the career and I would like to dedicate myself a time to that but I would also like to do other things.
Being a social worker I would like to work in prisons, that is the area to which I have dedicated myself for two years. I mainly like working with young people in conflict with the law. I imagine it obviously in a closed space because we speak of people deprived of freedom.
I would love to travel to other countries and see how prisons work and study models of international social reintegration.

I like this area because I think that people deprived of liberty are strongly excluded and abandoned. I think that focusing work in this area represents an opportunity for change not only for inmates and inmates, but for the development of the country. It seems important to demand a more active role for the state.

Later on, I would like to put aside social work, because it is exhausting, and dedicate myself to building a cafeteria, selling natural products and resting a bit, living in southern Chile maybe and working there.
I really do not think about the salary, it's not something that worries me at this moment.

Pantrucas

My favorite food is "las pantrucas".
This dish, besides being delicious, is full of history and cultural richness.
The pantrucas are of Mapuche origin, original people of our country.
I like to eat this dish because I have nothing to do with my ancestral roots,
I also love it when my mother cooks it because the preparation with a lot of love and dedication.
I also like to cook a lot, although there is still no need to do pan-jacks, haha,
but I like to prepare meals that can make more people happy. When I go to college
I take home-made food because I really prefer the taste of the food made by my mom.
When I have time and money I like to visit the restaurant called "Piccola Italia",
they serve delicious pastas, it is one of my favorite places to eat, my dad also likes
me a lot and when there are special dates he takes us to a corner there.
I think that food has the magic of gathering people, I love eating and tasting new flavors,
I feel that with food it brings us closer to places and moments, without a doubt it is one of my favorite
activities.
